Known in real life as Chandra Shekhar Shahi Thakuri, Sekhu’s journey to success was far from easy. Long before becoming a household name on TikTok and social media, he was just a young boy from a village in Surkhet carrying big dreams in his heart.
Ran Away From Home to Become an Artist
Around 15 years ago, Sekhu secretly left his village and came to Kathmandu with a dream of becoming an artist. Shockingly, he did not inform his father, mother, brothers, or sister before leaving home.
But Kathmandu did not welcome him with success.
His real struggle began immediately after arriving in the capital. To survive, he worked at a brick factory where he faced harsh working conditions. During one of those difficult days, a nail pierced his leg while working. Even today, according to Sekhu himself, the injury still remains as a painful memory of his suffering. While recalling those moments in a podcast, he became emotional and broke down in tears.
Torture, Pain, and Rejection
Later, Sekhu started working at a Dohori Sanjh (folk music restaurant). However, life there also became painful. He revealed that he faced severe mistreatment and torture during that period. In one disturbing incident, his hand was injured badly, forcing him to stop working for a long time.

Ironically, while trying to make others happy, he himself continued to suffer silently.
Eventually, he was removed from the Dohori Sanjh as well. His struggles kept growing. At one point, he stayed at a friend’s house, hoping life would improve. But fate again tested him — he was later thrown out from there too. That moment became one of the most heartbreaking experiences of his life.
Rise Through TikTok and Social Media
Despite all the pain, Sekhu never gave up. After years of struggle, he finally started gaining popularity through TikTok and other digital platforms. His humorous content and entertaining personality quickly made him famous among Nepali audiences.
But fame also came with another challenge.As his popularity increased, negative comments and online criticism started affecting his mental health. Sekhu openly shared that he became a victim of depression and anxiety during that difficult phase of life.
Thankfully, he fought his way out once again.

Sekhu believes that wealth is temporary, but genuine love from people is eternal.

Even after achieving success, Sekhu hinted that he is still silently dealing with certain struggles in life.
He revealed that there are many truths he is not ready to speak about yet, saying that either time will expose everything naturally or he himself will share it when the right moment comes.
